Our Name.... What does "MelMo" mean?

As stated in my “About the Owner” section, I owned a very successful painting company in Orange County, CA named Remy Painting.  My step-dad, Larry Remy, started the business in 1972 and when he retired, I took over as owner.

Last year my wife & I decided to move our business to the great state of Texas to get away from the hustle & bustle of Orange County & to provide a better quality of life for our daughters.  We sold our OC business to a reputable painter & headed out.  As part of our business strategy, we knew we needed to pick a new name.  It didn’t really make sense in our new location to continue using the Remy Painting name as “Remy” is my step-father’s last name & not mine.  It worked well in CA because most of my clients (who are now very sad we left the state) associated me with Remy since I had been working under that name for so long & would refer their friends to my company.

Our dilemma…what should the new TX company name be?  We thought of Regal, Regency, Rainbow, and other names that started with “R” in order to keep our same logo.  However, we really didn’t like those names; they seemed too “cookie-cutter and not personal enough.   Even “Wade Phillips Painting” seemed too bland.

My two daughters, Melanie and Morgan, mean the world to me so why not name the company after them? …Especially since they have a lot to do with the reason we moved here in the first place.   I have a tendency to shorten their names to “Mel” and “Mo”.  After discussing it with friends & family, "MelMo Painting " was created.

Melanie & Morgan (MelMo)

Our business is a family business & we hope the name will be a further reminder of this.
